🫒some notes on "cognitive bias": an african perspective
"Cognitive bias" is not a deliberate ignorance, but an unconscious, systematic error in thinking, deviation from rationality in judgment. For instance, an individual creates one's own "subjective reality" based on perceptions rather than objective facts. Hence, a "cognitive bias" is where such mental shortcuts are designed for faster decision-making based merely on distorted perceptions, inaccurate judgments, and irrationality, which can lead to political blindness.
The current Ugandan military officer's baseless, unfounded decision to stand in solidarity with the Israeli aggression is a typical example of "cognitive bias," including those other African heads of states, who choose but blindly to stand on the wrong side of history by endorsing and/or supporting "Israeli" Zionism and America's #Epstein_power that rapes and murders children. They disregard the Biblical and historical factual evidences below which refute their "cognitive bias" and a consequent political shortsightedness,
1. -that it is the same Bible they refer to which declares Israelis to be "Judas," meaning, "traitors,"and John 8:44 reads,
...you are of your father the devil and you want to do the desires of your father. He was a murderer from the beginning, and has not stood in the truth because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own nature, because he is a liar and the father of lies".
The same verse is widely interpreted by Biblical scholars as follows:
...Jesus identifies their (Israelis') "father" not as Abraham, but as the devil, because their actions—specifically their desire to kill Him—align with the devil’s nature rather than God's;
and,
2. -that there is only one human race on earth, all created by God, created in His own image, all created equal, and that the Jews are the sole "Chosen People of God" is a fakelore, or rather a "Covenantal Responsibility" granted to them to uphold His laws, which is a sacred obligation to holiness and service, rather than racial superiority and an exclusive privilege;
and,
3. -that, before Zionists reached agreement to steal and to settle on Palestinians' ancestral land, it was proposed to steal and settle on African' land, the move which is referred to as the historical "#Uganda_Scheme". The proposal was made by the British Empire in 1903 to create a Jewish homeland in the East Africa Protectorate (modern-day Kenya/Uganda) only to be rejected by the Zionist Congress in favor of occupying Palestine.
Later, the #Balfour_Declaration came into effect in 1948, the conspiracy which was masterminded again by the British Empire to evict Palestinians from their ancestral land and for Israelis to occupy, and to settle by murdering hundreds of thousands of innocent Palestinians day in and day out to this day;
No doubt to say, Africans would have remained slaves, at will (God Forbid!), to the Israeli expansionists if that occupation scheme ever succeeded. Or, which African country, or which African "leader" dares to fight back the Zionist expansionists and warmongers, then and after the settlement, like the Palestinian freedom fighters do, like the Lebanese Hezbollah do, like the Houtis do, and like the ferocious Iranian patriots and heroes are doing today, after all that same eviction, humiliation, and genocidal actions which Palestinians, the Lebanese, Syrians, Jordanians, Iraqis, and now Iranians are suffering? No one!;
and,
4. -that America's and Israeli aggression is not about religion but about expansionism, militarism, imperialism, oligarchy, as it is about consumerism, cronyism and insatiable greed for material wealth (oil and rare earth minerals). Evidently, Venezuela is a christian nation, Cuba is a christian nation, Panama, too, and Greenlanders, but it is sheer hypocrisy to miss this historical fact and to disregard its national and continental consequences of mere oblivion;
The western divisive policy is sealed in their awful statements: "you are either with us or with them!" and there is no room for the right to be neutral, and that African countries are "shit-hole countries," etc., all the mean names and pains that no humanity on earth can bear;
and,
5. -that, no Ugandan, or any African head of state, would forget, if not by negligence, the July 3, 1976 #Entebbe_Incident," the national (and African) humiliation and disgrace which the Ugandan security and defence force suffered following the Israeli aggression in the name of rescue operation against two Palestinians and two Germans (Revolutionary Cells), who hijacked Air France Flight 139 on June 27, 1976, in demand for an immediate release of the 53 militants held in Israel;
and,
6. -that, no (western) nation can claim itself to be democratic until it refutes itself against its non-democratic foundational values: slavery, the Indian Removal Act, Manifest Destiny, and the Jim Crow / Apartheid.
American government issued the #Indian_Removal_Act in 1830, the bill which was approved by the congress (later referred to as a #Manifest_Destiney), and put into effect to remove hundreds of thousands of Native Indians who traveled on foot thousands of miles across the Mississippi, the trail which is today called #trails_of_tears and marked as a historical site.
In one recent news, for instance, the US, Israel and Argentina voted against Ghana's UN resolution to recognize the slave trade as the 'biggest crime against humanity'.
Coda
Let me conclude by stating the following few remarks. In collaboration with dictatorial regimes, western powers and the rich confiscate land and land resources in the Global South, where the raw material is of high quality and abundant, and where cheap labour is available. They call the move a "partnership" or "business", and when the poor call it "domination," exploitation" and stand against the move as a "neocolonial project," and fight back fiercely, and humiliate the aggressor, they call the rightful liberation struggle "terrorism," and the freedom fighter a "terrorist". Without any workable plan on the ground, without consulting the free will of the people to demand regime change, western imperialists invade a sovereign nation and destroy the country, not just topple regimes (egs., Libya, Syria, Iraq, Venezuela, and now trying Iran, not knowing Iran to be a rising star in the Middle East), and, as a result, they put the nation in unstoppable civil wars and subject civilians to suffer subsequent crises.
It is Iranians and Iranians alone that can determine their own destiny without any external intervention, and that the same people are entitled to cherish the right to defend themselves, like Israel, like the USA or any Arab Gulf country, by whatever means possible. And, it is hoped, Iran and its allies alone can set free the Middle East from western imperialism, barbarism, oligarchy and from voluntary servitude for petrodollar, and humanity from Israeli militarist expansionism and mindless cult of the Blood Libel Ritual, the ritual which is about Jewish tradition of shedding the blood of non-Jewish children for ritual purposes. Remember the recent ruthless murdering of over 160 innocent schoolgirls in Minab, pre-planned and well thought out to ritually open the aggression against the Iranian sovereign nation on Feb 28, 2026. Over all, to side with aggressors, instead of standing in solidarity with those who are fighting any form of injustice and for survival, is an example of "cognitive bias" as it is a "deliberate ignorance" to choose to stand on the wrong side of history.
